Hey there, it's definitely been a minute since I've last written up a post. The truth is, life has been a bit chaotic recently. I'm taking just a few quick moments to catch ya up to speed before I hit the hay and set my alarm for 5am... okay maybe 6am. 🙃
So, where to begin... let's kick this thang off at the beginning of May, May 17th to be exact. The night of Style and the City, our 4th annual fashion show for Dress for Success Sioux Falls. We spend months leading up to the event, working long hours to make this show absolutely perfect and truly unique. Since it was our last year, we kicked things up a notch with a reverse runway and were excited to have raised thousands of dollars for the great organization!
Fast forward a day later, and I'm on a plane heading to Lake Tahoe, where I spent a little over a week on a personal development retreat. Let's just say, the timing couldn't have been any more perfect. I swung from trees 60 feet up in the air and faced some fears that have been holding me back for quite some time. The experience was unlike anything I've ever experienced in my life and I can't even begin to explain the doors that have now been blown off their hinges because of it. Watch out world, nothing is holding this lady back anymore! (Interested in having your life rocked? And this leads me to where I'm at now. One week away from opening yet another business. This time, a home decor and accent furniture store with my amazing partner, and gorgeous momma, Patience! We're super ecstatic to bring Conversation Piece to Sioux Falls and we've been working tirelessly over the past month to get the store picture perfect for you all to enjoy! I've had a few people ask me lately, "Chelsea, how do you do it, how do you do it all."
You wanna know the secret?
Come closer, closer, just a little bit closer... wait. TOO CLOSE. Back up. Okay, the secret is this: I don't do it all.
The true secret is to simply surround yourself with amazing people that help you do it all. Because no one can do it all, I mean truly do it all by themselves. You need people in your corner. You need people pushing you forward when you're too exhausted and hitting those late afternoon lulls. People that constantly remind you to send out newsletters, create fun content for social media and boost your grand opening event. You need people making phone calls to businesses asking for donations for the silent auction for the charity fashion show. You need amazing employees, friends and family that will be there not only rooting you on, but building walls, cleaning bathrooms and hooking up sound systems for you because you just don't have enough hours in the day to do it all. Seriously, if you haven't met Carly and Kacie at the boutique, they are the most hardworking, dedicated and kind people I could ever want to work with me. Love you two! 😘😘
So there you have it, the not-so-secret-anymore secret to doing it all.
